We are super proud to offer this fine example of Browning's famous over/under, the Superposed. Many variations have followed, but many believe this one is the best, and it was made in the Golden Age of Superposed production. Made in the year of our Lord 1961, it is hard to believe she is 64 years old. I believe every facet of this shotgun is original, which also says “light use”. The blued barrels are rich and deep, the stampings sharp and clear, and the lever resides well to the right of center. The single selective trigger is still gold, and ejectors toss the empties with authority. The nicely figured walnut has a few light handling marks, with sharp checkering that looks untouched. The bores are full bright, choked as marked, full and modified. The standard barrels only went up to 30 inches, and this beauty was special ordered with 32 inch vent rib tubes, topped with the famous Broadway rib and dual beads. I saw some chatter on one of the trap shooting forums, and several comments were made that you just can't get a better trap gun than a Browning with long barrels and a Broadway rib. The icing on the cake is the highly detailed and vivid engraving by master engraver Charles Legiers. He lent his hand to high grade Brownings in the 50's and early 60's, and we are glad he left his signature on this one. The drops are 1 ½ and 2 inches, and the LOP to the Browning pad is 14 ¼ inches. She tips the scales at 8 pounds. The high grade Brownings have fascinated collectors for decades, and their values have steadily increased. The grade, age, condition, signature, and unusual features have defined these values over the years. In that light, this scattergun is sitting pretty. If you have been looking for the right Superposed to collect, for investment, or rich shooting experience, but want the added clout of a high grade early model with 32 inch tubes, then look no further.
