Though the receiver is constructed of weight-saving aluminum, steel-on-steel locking is maintained by an articulated steel breechpiece which interacts with the steel barrels. The high grade walnut furniture is appointed with basketweave checkering, a schnabel tip, and Bavarian cheekpiece. Sighting consists of fiber optic express style sights, and a Swarovski Habicht 3-10x42 A scope in a Merkel factory mount. This piece dates to 2006. .30-06 Springfield
