Here's a stunning Example of SAA made by A. UBERTI Copying Theodore Roosevelt's Colt SAA ! Hand Engraved by a Italian Master Engraver! Aldo Uberti started his company in 1959 in Brescia , Italy . In a Area of Renowned for Arms and Armor Manufacturing since the late Middle Ages ! Some the Finest Gun Engravers in the World come from this area of Italy ! Uberti became a apprentice at the Beretta arms Co . At the age of 14 . Worked at Beretta till the late 1950's. In 1958 Val Forgett a American met with Beretta he wanted them to start making Reproduction Guns to feed the U.S. Civil War Reenactment frenzy! Beretta Refused they claimed they did not want make Reproduction Guns ! By this time Aldo Uberti was starting his own company. Luciano Amado who worked for Beretta approached Mr. Forgett and told him he could produce these Reproduction Guns for him ! So Amadi got with Vittorio Gregorelli who was the parts maker for Beretta at the time and joined Mr. Forgett in making these Reproductions! They setup a meeting with Uberti and cut a deal ! In late 1958 1st deal was for 6000 C.W. revolvers for the American Market ! History was made that day for the reproduction gun market ! Here's a Superb Example of Aldo Uberti's Workmanship! Aldo was a Perfectionist! This a Exact copy of Theodore Roosevelt Colt SAA ! This is a SAA with a 7 1/2" barrel . 44-40 caliber. Master hand engraved. Gun is finished in Silver with gold plating on some of the parts . Wonderful schroll engraving in with gold T.D on frame. Grips are carved Faux Ivory . Gun is Signed T.G.A Houston, Tx. - A. Uberti. Gun has all of its original finish still remaining. Some wear on gold plating . Overall finish is Outstanding. Bore and mechanics are in excellent condition!
