Serial Number:  100438

We have a truly spectacular offering for the Winchester collecting community…AN ALL ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED MODEL 1885 LOW WALL IN 98% CONDITION THROUGHOUT.  The Cody Firearms Museum information sheet shows this rifle shipped in 1906 with a 32” No. 2 weight octagon barrel, Lyman No. 5B Combination front sight, 22B Sporting rear sight, and the gun wears a No. 1 Lyman tang peep.  The barrel retains 98% dark, vivid factory blue, a mirror shiny perfect bore that rates 10 on a scale of 10, a small stain/blemish on the left side of the barrel shown in the photos, all stampings clear and sharp.  The action retains 97% dark factory blue, perfect screws and mechanics, with the lever and hammer retaining 99% vivid factory case color.  The factory wood is lightly figured with some fiddleback, and has 98% factory varnish with only a few light handling marks.  The crescent steel buttplate retains 99% dark factory case color…the best you will ever see.  I can say with confidence you will likely not see a better M1885 in your lifetime, especially the bore that looks like it has never been shot.  If you want the finest available Winchester Model 1885, here is your chance.  Hesitate and the gun will belong to someone else but you.  The value difference between a really nice 95% M1885 and a truly outstanding 98% gun like this one is notable, as there are few left like this one on the planet.  Still an affordable, high condition, factory documented Winchester.  A great and valuable asset that will only go up in value as you enjoy its place in your collection.  The .32-20 cartridge is known to be highly accurate in long barrels.  Maybe even bang the dong on a few long range steel targets, or take out that pesky groundhog taking down your garden!  Thanks for looking!
