Description:
This is a J C Higgins Model 44 DL which is a Marlin 57 made for Sears. It is the very short lever stroke "levermatic". 22 cal. It has a Weaver C4 scope with Weaver 22 Tip-off mount. I fired it 8 rounds not long ago and it worked perfectly. The stock is nice with a good refinished job. The lever and trigger were originally the silver color they are now. The receiver is "alloy" and was originally coated black ( just painted? ). This has been stripped of the black and given a brushed satin look. There is a little bit of very fine pitting on the barrel and mag tube at the end The worst cosmetic thing is that the bluing was worn off around the mag tube support and poorly refinished-this is very visible. Shipping and insurance is $45.
