****SOLD**** This is a very nice U.S. Military Rock Ola M1 Carbine made in 1944 during WW2. It has gone thru a U.S. Arsenal inspection/overhaul at some point post WW2 or during Korea. As you can see from the pictures, this M1 carbine is a very nice example of its type. The oval cut low wood stock is very attractive, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage.The buttstock shows an Augusta Arsenal rebuild mark but no other visible markings denoting its original manufacturer. The handguard and buttstock are a perfect match and is nicely marked with S-HB on the underside of the 2 rivot handguard. There is a U.S. Arsenal proof "P" on the front of the grip. The trigger housing is Rock Ola with a mix of manufacturers of the small parts. The slide is marked "SG". The flat parkerized bolt shows no visible markings. The barrel is undated and of I.B.M. manufacture. All of the stock hardware is intact and in great shape, including the recoil plate (Rock Ola marked) and steel buttplate. The action on this M1 Carbine is slick and precise, locking into battery smoothly and without any slop in the bolt. All of the controls are in perfect working order, including the Type 2 adjustable adjustable rear sight and rotating safety. This Rock Ola passed headspace and should be an excellent shooter in addition to being an excellent investment.
