ANTIQUE Rare Sharps 4-Shot pepperbox pistol Model 4c in .32 Rimfire
Unique Revolving Firing Pin.
Antique Sharps Model 4c Pepperbox Pistol, made in the 1860s with a production run of 1859 through 1864 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
SN: 11878. only 4,000 manufactured. Only model produced with the bird’s head pistol grip.
Barrel marked: C. SHARPS PATENT JEN.25.1859
Pressing the button on the left side of the frame releases the 4 one piece barrels to slide forward for loading . Pull back slightly on the hammer and the barrels lock in place. Has a very unique revolving firing pin.
Condition: 3” 4 barrel cluster with moderate oxidation and light. pitting.
Frame markings on both sides are legible. Firing pin rotates and works as it should. The original smooth rosewood grips are in good condition showing light wear with a very tiny chip missing from the toe of each grip.
Mechanically works good , Hammer spring is a little on the weak side. Barrel to frame fit shows a little bit of play. Barrel and frame have matching numbers . Please judge condition from the photos.
Also included is a nice looking presentation case with a 4 rounds of vintage .32 RF ammo to display with this really nice looking pistol
