For your consideration, an Ishapore model 2A chambered in 7.62x51mm. The receiver, bolt, and muzzle cap are all numbers matching. Unlike its successor, the 2A1, the 2A retains the 2000yd rear sight leaf from the SMLK Mk ?* upon which it is based. This piece dates to 1966, is of Indian manufacture, and features the squared-off front sight ears, black painted finish, and FAL buttplate characteristic of mid-century, Indian produced SMLE derivatives. 7.62x51mm
