Description:
8-5/8 inch damascus octagon barrels with slightly flared muzzles and bright bores. The barrels retaining a good amount of original plum-brown finish with some edge wear and barely visible swirling damascus patterns throughout. Pistol 2 barrel has a slight ding on the left side. The barrels show lovely gold bordering and gold foliate inlay at the muzzles. The pistols are sighted with wide v-notch rear sights and blades at the front. The pistols are numbered “1” and “2” in gold, and the top flats show beautifull gold inlays in fancy French script “Le Page Arqer du Roi”. The breech plugs and lockplates retain vibrant case-hardened colors with some subtle toning. The tangs and lockplates show fine foliate scroll and motifs. The centers of the plates also show the maker’s name in gold. Triggerguards and trigger plates show a nice smoky case-hardened patina with vibrant colors in the protected areas and more of the same lovely foliate engraving. Both pistols are equipped with adjustable set triggers. Crisp action on both. The checkered French walnut stocks remain in fine condition with pistol two showing a few thin drying cracks at the edges and pistol one with a more noticeable 1 1/2” grain crack ahead of the lockplate. Left side top edge of stocks has the number "2591" on each. Butts are steel-capped and surrounded by lovely carved ebony. A beautiful set of classic French percussion pistols made by LePage.
