This sought after vintage BDL VS (Varmint) model is neaerly 50 yrs old and looks litke it left the old Rem plant in Illion NY yesterday .
It comes with an inexpensive but excellent Bushnell 3x9 (it could easily handle more scope ...we have a number of excellent used Leupolds and others...inquire). The rifle is in very nearly new or as new conditon with one exceotion ...a small hole was drilled on the underside of the stock .....we are unsure of its intended purpose but is not very visible and could easily be filled using marterial from any hardware store.
These guns were fundamentally a civilia version of the M40 Viet Nam Era Sniper rifles and are known for exceptional out of the box accuracy. By the engine turned bolt shonwing zero wear it is likley this was not even broken in .
While not rare in this terrific little varmint round it is far from common.
Chamberd in 222 Remiington (not remington mag) it is a fun plinker ...with mild report and no recoil.
