Description: Unfired Superb Argentine Mauser Modelo 1909 7.65mm Military Rifle Offered here for sale is this newly acquired classic Argentine military rifle – the Mauser Modelo 1909 7.65MM rifle. This Argentine Mauser Modelo 1909 is a collector's favorite, especially in this condition . The rifle is chambered for the 7.65×53mm Argentine cartridge ( 7.65 Mauser), is bolt-action with a barrel length of 30 inches. Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in Berlin, Germany it was a replacement of the earlier 1891 Argentine Mauser; essentially a German Gewehr 98 with modifications for Argentina. The serial numbers on these rifles typically followed a letter prefix (A, B, C… etc.) for production batches. Based on collector data and DWM production runs with“E” prefix rifles were likely manufactured around 1912–1914. The Modelo 1909 production started around 1909 and ran through early WWI, slowing after 1914 as Germany entered the war. DWM stopped most foreign military contracts after 1914, so “E” block rifles are still considered pre-WWI production — which is quite desirable. This specimen serial number E1958 is unfired with all matching serial numbers. 100% original finish on metal. Near-perfect stock with only a couple of minor marks. Super sharp markings on metal and PERFECT cartouches in wood. Mint bore. With original muzzle cap. That is exceptional, bordering on museum-grade condition. Most surviving 1909s saw military service or were later modified or sporterized.
