Description:
This one is like opening a Time Capsule. A Beautiful pre- U.S.R.A. Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight rifle in the classic 30-06 Springfield chambering. This one was shipped From Sears, Roebuck & co. to Riverton, Wyoming in 1981. A customer bought it, took it home, put it away where it remained until it came to me. It may have been test fired by Winchester before shipping, although there is no evidence of that, but has not ever been fired since. The factory box contains all of the original paperwork, including the hang tag. The Box is serial numbered to the receiver as is the bolt. As you would expect, the rifle looks as new as it did in 1981. This one has no U.S.R.A. markings on the box or anywhere on the rifle. The factory non slip rubber buttpad just says Winchester Repeating Arms. This is one of the last "Real" Winchesters made before the takeover by USRA.
The rifle is chambered in argueably the best all around caliber of all, the venerable 30-06. The 30-06 is a very capable round and has taken every species of game animal in North America, and is effective on any non-dangerous animal around the world. Ammo is generally available anywhere ammo is sold. If you are looking for a great hunting rifle, this could be it. If you want to keep this one in the pristine condition that it is currently in and hold on to it, you will not find a better one in my opinion. Kept in this condition, history tells us that it is sure to appreciate in value.

RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day non firing, no-tinkering with (turning screws, taking apart, removing parts, scoping. firing, cleaning or altering in any way) inspection/return privilege. Inspection is based on a visual review of the firearm to confirm that it is in the condition stated. In the case of a return, the buyer pays all shipping charges both ways. Please ask questions.
