This is a very attractive early post World War 2 Russian Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine in 7.62x54R caliber. Manufactured in 1945 at Izhevsk, this M44 carbine appears to have gone thru one rebuild and has some arsenal-matched butt plate and a Yugo stock variation (marked TRZ). NOTE: This rifle shows no visible import mark that we could find. The finish on this carbine is very nice and in excellent condition. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling. The integral folding bayonet is in excellent condition and locks up perfectly. The stock on this M44 is in excellent condition overall with only some light handling marks and no cracks, chips, or repairs. All of the stock hardware, bands, and buttplate are intact and in good condition. All of the controls on this carbine are in perfect working order, and the bolt locks up nice and tight. This Izhevsk M44 Carbine would make an excellent addition to any WW2 or Eastern Bloc milsurp collection as well as a great shooter.
