The Marlin® 1895GBL Lever-Action Rifle, chambered in 45-70 Gov't, delivers sufficient firepower to knock down any land mammal in North America. Marlin originally designed the 1895GBL as a "Guide Gun", though it serves anyone who spends time in the backcountry for defense against large animals. It is a fast handling hunting rifle for large game in heavily forested habitats. The 1895GBL has a blued steel barrel and receiver, large loop lever and laminated wood buttstock and fore-end. The buttstock has a pistol grip and a Marlin recoil pad. Ballard style rifling stabilizes all types of bullets, cast or jacketed. The Marlin 1895GBL Lever-Action Rifle features side ejection. Sling swivel studs allow for the attachment of a rifle sling for convenient hands-free carry in the field. A receiver-mounted crossbolt safety that effectively blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin. Made in USA 2015. .45-70 Government
