Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle in 40-82 WCF Antique
This Winchester Model 1886 in chambered in 40-82 WCF, is in a standard configuration with a 26" full octagon, full tube magazine it is equipped with a standard semi-buckhorn rear sight and German silver blade front sight.
Condition:
This is an early 1886 with a low serial number chambered in the powerful 40-82 WCF. The metal surfaces have aged to a mottled gunmetal patina throughout and shows some scattered light pitting and oxidation usually seen on rifles of this age. There are some hints of original finish around the bolt and lever. The markings and legend on the metal have softened but remain legible. The walnut stocks are in very good condition and exhibit scattered dings and marks from handling and use of the last 137 years. There is a small hole on the left side of forend and the buttstock shows some softened chips and checks around the tang. The tang stands slightly shy of the sock. The bore is bright and rates very good with some light pitting and very strong rifling throughout.. This is a salty and mechanically sound early1886
