Description:
This is a partial box, 18 rounds, of .45-70 Marlin black powder ammunition manufactured by UMC with 405 grain flat nose solid head lead bullets. The two piece box is solid with small pieces missing on the top corners having excellent graphics showing an excellent cartridge cut with overall mild age soiling. The cartridges are in excellent condition with slight age darkening on the heads. These are correct 45-70 Marlin rounds with the designated small No. 1 ½ primers and flat lead bullets. The do lack the "S H" as shown on the cartridge cut and are likely a later loading using up the earlier solid head call out boxes that were popular in the 1880's.
