Description:
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .45-75 W.C.F. ammunition manufactured by Winchester circa late 1880's. The two piece, square corner box shows the last version of the cartridge cut without the head stamp and the early "Central Fire" call out with the prominent "Model "Centennial" 1876" highlighting the original caliber the M76 was built in. The box has very good graphics with a nice cartridge cut showing flaking and edge wear. The box is solid with very old tape on the outside edge and professional repairs on the inside bottom. The cartridges are in excellent condition and do bear the "W.R.A. Co. 45-75 W.C.F." headstamp not uncommon for transitional periods using up old labels and very likely native to this box with the headstamped cartridge cut box appearing in the early 1890's.
