Description:
A Garniture is a group of 3 guns manufactured by the same artist or manufacture. Fowling piece has a .60 bore, 30 inch barrel and superb gilt bronze mounts. The pistols match the Fowler. This garniture was ordered in the second quarter of the 18th century, nearly 300 years ago. It is believed to have been ordered by Ernst August Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimer and created by court gun maker Johan Martin Laun from parts supplied by Giovanni Botti of Brescia. Barrels are stamped with signature of Lazarino Cominazzo, one of Italy’s most renowned barrel makers. The locks, cocks and frizzens are all signed Gio. Botti and are chiseled in relief manner. The figured walnut stocks are carved with scrolls.They have spurred pommels, blued screws and triggers, gilt bronze caps and ramrod pipes and wooden ramrods with gilt bronze tips.
This group is Museum quality and are a beautiful representation of historical art in gun making!
