Description:
Appears to be a 16 bore. Percussion. 26 inch damascus barrels. Fine bores are actually pretty clean and shiny. Nipples are fine. Markings are clear. Well marked on the top of the rib WESTLEY RICHARDS 170 NEW BOND St LONDON. The scalloped locks are both marked WESTLEY RICHARDS. Both locks are in fine mechanical order. Elegant scroll engraving on the locks and hammers. Silver barrel key escutcheons, also appears to have some silver below where the barrels would sit on the stock. Some minor surface rust here and there. Some light pitting on the trigger guard. Stock has nice grain to it with dings and handling marks, appears to have been broken in the wrist which was repaired at some point, could be made to look better. All matching numbers. Comes in what appears to be the original wood case with brass fittings. The case was relined at some point, however the label appears to be the original. Has a Sykes powder flask, unmarked leather shot pouch, cleaning rod (in addition to the ramrod under the barrels), a screw driver, another tool that we're not sure what it's called, 2 cleaning brushes, and an unopened tin of percussion caps as well as an Eley tin that appears to have some sort of tinder in it All in all, a very attractive set up. We do not have the key for the case. Made sometime in the mid-1800's in England. The case dimensions are 30 x 9.5 x 3.25 inches. Serial number is 3561
