Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Rifle 38-40 cal Bore VG bright with strong rifling, Mech Exc tight smooth action showing little use, Wood is original near exc with good fit to metal and has an original buttplate with compartment. Has a 24” Rd barrel with Exc address and cal markings. Rear sight is a Winchester small buckhorn and front sight is a insert replacement. The receiver has an original dust cover and marked Model 1873 on the top tang. The lower tang has the serial#165653 mfg’d 1884. The brass carrier has an excellent 38 cal marking. Metal overall has a blue brown patina finish with traces of some very fine pitting. The receiver has considerable traces of original blue in protected areas.
