Description:
The S&W Baby Russian Revolver in caliber .38 S&W with 3 1/2” barrel. Its official name is the "38 Single Action 1st Model Revolver”. This was S&W's first pocket revolver with a top break. It was produced from 1875 to 76 with a distinctive elongated ejector rod housing. The housing was shortened, and the 2nd Model was born. Just over 25,000 of the First Models were produced, thus hard to find when compared to over 108,000 of the Second Models. Making this one sought after by collectors. This gun is serial number 23839 and sports 95% original nickel plate job with nice hard rubber grips. Bore shows very light black powder frost with strong rifling. Function is mechanically perfect. All matching numbers. A must have to any S&W top break collection. Don't forget the special 4" barrel feature.
