Description:
On consignment we have a Cogswell & Harrison bolt action rifle in .404 Jeffery. This rifle features a checkered walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, engraved steel gripcap, and red Decelerator recoil pad. The receiver is a blued 98 Mauser action, fully engraved with flip-up peep sight on the rear, an engraved alloy floorplate and triggerguard, and 26" barrel with quarter rib and 3-leaf express sights. Rifle is in excellent condition with a very clean bore. Barrel is marked, "Cogswell & Harrison Ltd. 168 Piccadilly London". Caliber is marked .404 2-7/8", 16.5 tons. LOP is 14-5/8", weight is 8 pounds, 6 ounces. Metal has been professionally refinished by JJ Perodeau of Champlin Arms.
