Many of you that enjoy shooting with the side-by-side shotgun are familiar with Tony Galazan’s well received RBL series of round bodied guns. The gun presented here is a special order RBL 28 gauge two-barrel set with game scene and scroll engraving, case colored receiver, 4X wood, and lots of special-order features, including a canvas and leather case with all accessories. What a perfect upland gun this is, set up with a set of 26” barrels choked SK/IC and a set of self-opening 30” barrels choked M/F. This gun weighs 5lbs. 14oz with the 26” barrels and 6lbs. 2oz. with the 30’s, which is lighter than most RBL guns you will review, and that is very important for the upland gunner that walks so many tough miles in heavy cover and grasslands. The gun is stocked with gorgeous 4X special order wood and a long length of pull at 14 ¾” that will accommodate the taller and shorter shooters both (with alterations). Here are some specifics on this gun: RBL – base price $4250, 4x American Black walnut $900, long tang trigger guard $700, beavertail forend $175, gold single selective trigger $175, extra set of barrels $2500, self-opening $450, case with accessories $700. With these options the new cost of the gun was $9850. The condition of this gun is 99.9% new, with no wear on the barrels, action, trigger guard or wood…not a mark anywhere. The barrels are still tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face. With the two sets of barrels and different choke constrictions, this RBL will adapt from quail and grouse to wild pheasants or waterfowl late in the season. Just in time for a summer of sporting clays to warm you up for the fast-approaching fall season of chasing your favorite game birds. We are offering this gun at a very affordable price.
