Description:
Excellent 1960 Browning Superposed 20 Gauge in Browning Case. S/N 19128. Perhaps as fine a 20 gauge Superposed as is on the market today. Twenty eight inch barrels, choked Improved Cylinder (Bottom barrel), and Improved Modified (Top barrel). This is a St Louis era gun, and has recently been completely revitalized by Art Isaacson, former St Louis Browning employee and operator of Art's Gun Shop in Missouri.
This gun operates perfectly, with no hinge looseness or other wear issues. Ventilated Rib Barrels are the preferred 28 inch length, with actual choke measurements of .006 bottom and .015 top, and are equipped with 3 inch chambers. Ventilated rib with muzzle and mid-rib beads. Stock has satin finish, accentuating the beautiful French walnut used in those years. Length of pull measures 14 5/16 inches, ending in a Browning factory buttplate. Cast is neutral. A 20 gauge Standard model, this gun weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces. Perfect for hunting, clays, or investment only.
In addition to the gun and case, this sale includes a copy of the Ned Schwing Book (with dust cover), a St Louis era Browning catalog, and a St. Louis era Superposed shotgun O&M brochure (see photos).
