Description:
This is a Nice Southerner by Brown Mfg. Co. and is serial number 3999 and only 10000 were made. The barrel and frame are matching numbers. They were made from 1866-1873. I would estimate this one was made in 1868 or 1869. It retains 65-70% barrel blue and plum color with a small amount of darkened silver on the very dark brass frame. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore has strong rifling and is bright but has bad corrosion with areas of nice bore and bad bore showing. The grips are very fine plus condition.
