Description:
Serial #9197l, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a "dou.45" coded, BRNO-made rifle with typical late war stamped floorplate and large trigger guard, stamped nosecap and barrel band, and cupped metal buttplate with bolt disassembly hole at the toe. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some mild silvering on the exposed edges and projections, with most of the loss occurring on the bearing surfaces of the matching bolt. The wartime German proofs have been peened out on the left side of the receiver, and Czech lion stamps are present on the receiver and barrel breech. The laminated wood stock and handguard are in fine shape, with only some minor handling marks scattered here and there. The rifle does not have a cleaning rod, and a small and an unobtrusive import stamp is present on the underside of the barrel. This is a neat, very late war Kar.98k, Czech-made and Czech-issued.
