Description:
First model Pedersoli Quigley manufactured shortly after the movie was released in 1990. Half octagon, half round 34” barrel. The rifle is chambered in the monstrous .45-120 Sharps cartridge which I used for 1000 yard matches with a 535 grain Postell bullet. It performed very well winning several Creedmore competitions. The rifle has double triggers, one for setting the hair trigger mode and one for firing the rifle, the hair trigger is really a great invention preventing trigger “jerk” when firing.
The forearm is pewter tipped (I think it’s really a German silver nickel alloy) which is bright and shiny and all of the wood is free of checks and dings.
The sights are competition grade with the rear sight being a long range tang with over 3” elevation available. The 1000 yard setting is approximately 2.25” and the aperture is adjustable to compensate for lighting conditions. Vernier scales for windage and elevation have crisp engraving with no rust. This is a far superior sight to the MVA type that is very popular. The front sight has a bubble level which is critical for long range shooting. Changeable inserts allow for personal preference for sight picture and the sight card is included in the offer. The original sights were junk and have been removed. The sights alone cost over $700.
Forty pieces of .45-120 brass along with Dillon cases are included as shown in one of the pictures.
I can supply Postell 535gr bullets or Hoch Custom style 500gr bullets on request. Bullets can come lubed or unlubed, I use SPG for black powder lube. 50 bullets for an additional $50 with the purchase of the gun.
While the gun was manufactured in the early 1990s, it has seen use for about 2 years for match shooting only, I purchased a Shiloh Sharps .45-90 (two year wait on that one) shortly after acquiring Quigley and have used that extensively so the gun has been in the safe for most of its life.
This is a spectacular rifle with outstanding sights.
