Description: This is a partial draw set originally given out at the 1876 US Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia by the Frankford Arsenal to demonstrate how the inside primed ammunition was manufactured. Speculation exists as to the exact number of pieces included with the give away souveniers and likely it varied by how many components were manually stuffed into the small cardboard boxes. Included with this set are 5 drawn copper tubes that progress from short and wide to long and narrow as the cartridge is formed. An un-head stamped non-primed case and an empty primed case (non head stamped). Also included is a flat disk for the primer cup draw and several of the primer cups. Missing from the set is the "US 1776 / 1876" head stamped cartridge and the parent large flat copper disk but most other components are present. A rarely found set housed in a custom display box that should be part of any serious cartridge collection. Price: $475.00 |
