Phenomenal, High Original Condition and All Matching Mauser Prewar Large Ring Shallow Milled C96 Pistol with Factory Matching Stock and an original cleaning rod, 30606, FB01676

Description:

Standard configuration Large Ring Shallow Milled Mauser C96 with 5.5" barrel, fixed front sight, and slip-in 50-1000 rear tangent sight. Long extractor, single lug firing pin, LR hammer, early safety. Mauser address on top of chamber, full serial number on left chamber flat. C/C/U on left side of barrel extension; antler proof on right side of barrel extension. “VON LENGERKE & DETMOLD NEW-YORK” import mark on the left side of frame. Fitted with matching serrated walnut grips. Lanyard ring present. Disassembly shows all matching serial numbers. Complete with factory matching stock, original cleaning rod and historical documentation from Griffin & Howe highlighting date of import and original disposition.

Condition:

EXC original condition with bright, crisp, rust blue having only minimal sharp edge wear. Same high condition applies to front and backstraps whose only significant wear is from stock insertion. Original fire blue approximately 80%, with speckling in expected locations over extractor, cursor, and crest of bolt stop. Trigger retains almost all of its original straw. EXC grips with scattered handling marks and a few shallow bruises as carefully imaged. Near EXC original finish stock with scattered handling marks, congealed grease/flecks of oxidation on hinge. No crack around the hammer cutout. Portions of iron with oxidative discoloration that blend in with the heat treated fire blue. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A wonderful early production C96 whose condition would be extremely difficult to improve upon; the matching stock, original cleaning rod, and Griffin and Howe documentation, a tremendous bonus!
