28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 38-55 caliber with a. bore that has substantial rifling but is fairly dark with rough surfaces throughout. Full length magazine. Sights include a Lyman No 4 Hunting front and flat top sporting rear. Overall metal surfaces have been cleaned leaving them a mottled gray with dark spots. Walnut stocks are solid and fit fairly well having been freshened up with a light cleaning and oil finish. Equipped with a rifle buttplate. Crisp action. Antique Winchester that was manufactured in 1897.
