Description:
Serial #9578, 12 Gauge (2 1/2 inch chamber for low pressure loads), 30 ¼ inch solid rib Damascus finished Steel barrels with bright, excellent bores choked modified and tight full free of dents. This is a William Parkhurst double barrel hammer shotgun manufactured in Belgium circa 1900. It is labeled "Wm PARKHURST" on the left lock plate and "Machine Made" on the right with "Belgium Damascus Finish" on the rib and Choke Bore" on the left barrel with numerous Belgian proofs on the barrel flats. In excellent plus condition the barrels show virtually all of 95-97% of the Damascus finish pattern with some thinning on the carry areas. The frame and hammers show vivid case-hardened colors with the trigger-guard a faded mottled brown. The checkered straight grip stock and forearm are solid and remain in excellent condition. The lock up is tight with barrels on face and the rebounding hammers function properly with strong springs releasing with a crisp trigger pull. Length of pull is 14 inches with drops of 2 and 3 inches at the comb and heel respectively. A rarely found very high condition Belgian made William Parkhurst shotgun with steel barrels & fun to see what they looked like when they were new! FFL or C&R
