Description:
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .50-95 Winchester Express black powder ammunition manufactured by Winchester with 95 grain express bullets, hollow points with copper cup marked with "X". This cartridge was developed for the Model 1876 and was the first commercial 50 caliber cartridge developed by Winchester. This box was the first type to show the headstamped cartridge cut. The two piece square corner box has intact labels with an excellent cartridge cut and sharp graphics with good color showing slight flaking along the edges. The box is solid having been completely and professionally rebuilt from the inside. The bottom has inside re-enforcements to all edges. The top has one seem repaired. with some very mild age soiling and staining with pencil writing on the side and back. The cartridges appear native to the box and are in excellent condition. A hard to find caliber and box that remains in high condition and would complement any serious Winchester ammunition collection.
