SPECIAL ORDER 1894 .30 WCF OCTAGON RIFLE WITH CHECKERED PISTOL GRIP, #136XXX. The receiver sides and bolt show good thinning blue with the barrel similarly showing good blue with edge wear and some normal thinning from age. The mag tube has some brown mixing with blue mainly on the bottom. Buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Marble No. 3 blade/ivory bead front sight. The pistol grip has the correct Winchester embossed hard rubber grip cap. The checkering is very worn and barely visible on the pistol grip and forend. The action is tight with strong safety half-cock. The bore is a little dark with fine rifling all the way through. Madis books show this serial number as an antique. An attractive and scarce pistol grip special order 1894.
