About Us: Established in 1976. We are a full time FFL dealer. Also interested in purchasing ORIGINAL Civil War Confederate weapons for our personal collection.

Description:
Fresh in out of a local estate. This is a model 1840 musket that was originally made in 1844 by Nippes and so marked on the lock. It was converted to percussion for the Civil War. Retains a pleasing patina overall with pitting in areas. No visible barrel date. Lock is in good working order. Bore is rusty. .69 caliber. Wood is solid with dings and handling marks, showing wear, no visible cartouches. The ramrod is an incorrect replacement. There is a significant amount of burnout behind the nipple, a trait commonly found on Confederate used firearms, although this could also have been used by a Union soldier. Clearly one that has Seen the Elephant so to speak. 42 inch barrel with bayonet stud on the bottom of the muzzle area.
