Description:
This is a S&W Model of 1955 Target Revolver in .45 ACP with 6 1/2" barrel and It is 5-screw. It is like new and original condition of Carbonia blue and grip finish. The bore is mirror bright with deep rifling. The action is smooth and tight. It has factory installed Target trigger, Target hammer and Target stocks. The stocks are serial numbered to the gun. The gun has all matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, extractor star and the grips. Box is original to the gun with serial numbered on the bottom. It correctly is in the 1950 box with the number 5 overstamped to read 1955. There is a filler block in the box and anti-rust paper as well. This is one of the earliest 1955 Targets ever made with only a few with lower serial. This gun shipped in 1956. This gun offered is identical in size, and shape and mirror polished blue to the pre-29 .44 Magnum. Just a different caliber. This gun may be the best is the USA. It is from my own collection of many years. I am Oregon Lumberjack here and on the other big site. I am a FFL dealer in Connecticut for near 40 years.
