Description:
Remington Nylon Model 76 Rifle
  • .22 lr caliber
  • These were the only lever action rifles every produced by Remington Arms
  • Very limited as only approximately 26,927 were produced
  • The entire frame of the rifle was made from a blended DuPont Nylon formula, "Zytel 101" with high tensile, impact and flex strength, was virtually indestructible and provided a self lubricating framework for the metal parts
  • The standard lever model outfitted in a Mohawk Brown color that mimicked real wood was introduced as the Nylon 76 Trail Rider in early 1962
  • This rifle was billed as the fastest lever action in the world when released
  • 14 round capacity in tubular magazine in the butt stock
  • Original price was $59.95
  • Most of these rifles were knocked about and scuffed up, many were damaged and discarded when the owners screwed up in their attempts to disassemble and reassemble them
  • Surviving examples in any condition have become increasingly hard to find
  • Remington collectors prize these rifles because they are the only lever actions ever manufactured under the Remington banner
  • Nylon collectors salivate when they find one
  • Limited production and decreasing availability make these highly valued on the market
  • Elevation adjustable rear sight
  • Gun has signs of use, but overall decent condition
  • Stock has handling marks
  • Only ever produced from 1962-1965
  • Serial number None
