As part of Remington’s revolutionary Nylon series, the Nylon 76 stood out as the only lever-action model in the lineup, and the chrome version was an even more limited variant. Featuring a chrome-plated receiver and barrel paired with a black Zytel nylon stock, this rifle offered a striking, corrosion-resistant finish and futuristic look. Designed with a short-throw lever action and a 14-round tubular magazine, the Nylon 76 Chrome delivered exceptionally fast cycling, earning a reputation as one of the fastest lever-action .22 rifles ever made. Manufactured in very limited numbers between 1962 and 1965, the pre-64 Chrome model is highly sought after by collectors today, not only for its rarity but also for its innovative construction, lightweight handling, and the legacy of Remington’s bold step into synthetic firearm technology.
