This carbine was produced in the second month of production. The bore is bright and in fine condition. All of the parts on this Winchester are correct for the serial number range and time frame. This rifle shows service use and wear. The action works nicely with no issues. The Magazine release button is the correct early serrated long face style. The safety is the correct early push button cross hatched surface safety. The hammer is the early dog leg style hammer. The stock has the early WRA-GHD in a box. The handguard has the correct unmarked bull nose wood handguard. The stock is the correct high wood " I" stock style for this carbine. There is a rack number stamped on the left side by the toe which is not unusual. The magazine is also a Winchester coded magazine. The oiler is also Winchester coded. The carbine sling is the correct early style sling. These early M1 carbines have a very poor survival rate. Many of them were lost in the early stages of the war.
