Manufactured by Star Bonifacio Echeverria in Eibar, Spain, from 1972 until 1997, the BKM was designed to meet the growing demand for easily concealable firearms in the United States during the 1970s. It is a variant of the Star Model BM, distinguished primarily by its aluminum alloy frame, which reduces the pistol‚‚s weight to approximately 26 ounces.
