Description:
Like new in box Sako A II action L579 Forester Deluxe Model chambered in .22-250 Rem and featuring a 25" barrel without sights. The receiver has integral tapered dovetail rails for scope rings which a top is a Leupold Gold VARI-X III 6.5x20 Scope with removable Sunshade, lens covers and Leupold Steel Rings. The gorgeous European Walnut, Monte Carlo Stock is a factory lacquered blonde wood with a rose tip fore end and pistol grip cap, featuring beautiful hand-cut skip-line diamond cut checkering. Forester Tree is inlaid on the grip underside. Attached swivel studs, deluxe recoil pad embossed Finland Sako, wood finished in high gloss, metal surfaces have the deluxe luster mirror polish bluing. The blue throughout rates very high. I do not see a single defect in the metal. The stock has a few tiny handling marks in the toe. Not noticeable in the hand. A very desirable caliber in deluxe grade and in the original box even!
The "A II" designation indicates a series of updates introduced around 1978 to enhance the rifle's performance and durability. These modifications included:
