Austrian STEYR PIEPER M1909/13I 7.65mm SEMI-AUTOMATIC Pistol C&R With a Production Run Between 1919 to 1922 in Austria Here we present a Steyr Pieper Model 1909/13I, sometimes referred to as the Model 1908, Semi-Automatic Pistol, made in 1920 with a production run between 1919 to 1922 by Oesterreichische Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft in Steyr, Austria. The only difference between the Model 1909 and the Model 1909/13 consisted of nothing more than the addition of a lanyard loop to the bottom of the grip. After production ceased somewhere around 1911, it resumed in 1919 and continued through 1922 with approximately 13,000 guns being made in this period, these being referred to as the Model 1909/13I. The primary change is that the grooves in the gripping surface of the slide are vertical instead of angled, making it somewhat easier to grasp, and all Model 1909/13-I guns feature a factory installed lanyard ring. The initial design comes from Belgian inventor Nicholas Pieper. It was very popular with military and police officers in Austria-Hungary. It holds 7 shots of 7.65mm, or .32 ACP, in the magazine and features a tip-down barrel. This is a fairly unusual design for a blowback pistol with it having a tip-down barrel. The barrel is retained with a pivoting bolt that is held by a thumb-latch barrel locking mechanism. The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. Strong action. The bore is lightly frosted in appearance, and maintains sharp rifling. Both grips are fine with sharp checkering. Markings are legible. Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3-1/2 inches. Caliber: 7.65mm (.25 ACP) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING.
