Offered here for sale and just acquired is this beautiful vintage 1974 original Colt “New Frontier” .22 revolver. This specimen with serial number L141167 was manufactured in 1974. This model is part of the "L" series, which Colt produced in limited quantities from March to September 1974.
The Colt New Frontier .22 was introduced as a single-action revolver with adjustable sights, catering to shooters who desired more precision than the fixed-sight models offered. It was chambered in both .22 Long Rifle (LR) and .22 Magnum, providing versatility for various shooting applications. The 6.5" barrel length is a desirable feature, offering improved accuracy and a balanced feel.
This revolver's excellent bore and minimal wear, mostly on the .22 Magnum cylinder, suggests it has seen only light use. With many new additions acquired we wished to display as many as possible for sale to customers thus some images show just some dried oil in spots which we will fully clean before shipping. The original factory hard rubber grips in near-new condition and the beautiful case coloring further enhance its appeal. A fine acquisition for the collector or shooting enthusiast.
