2016: Kimber, primarily known for its 1911 pistols and bolt-action rifles, surprised the firearms world by introducing its first-ever revolver, the K6s. This initial K6s was a compact, double-action-only (DAO), six-shot .357 Magnum revolver designed primarily for concealed carry, featuring a 2-inch or 3-inch barrel and internal hammer. It quickly gained a reputation for its incredibly smooth trigger pull.
2019: Kimber began expanding the K6s line, introducing Double Action/Single Action (DASA) variants. This was a significant development, as it added an exposed hammer, allowing for both traditional double-action pulls and crisp single-action operation.
Late 2019 / Early 2020 (Officially \"New for 2020\"): The Kimber K6s DASA 4\" Target model was officially introduced. This model was a direct response to customer demand for a K6s that could be used more effectively for target shooting and competition, as well as personal defense.
