What a great find, an unfired Winchester Golden Spike! Here we have a Winchester Model 94 Golden Spike .30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine released in 1969 to commemorative the centennial of the Golden Spike ceremony and the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in1869. The gun (serial number GS10360) is a Model 94 carbine chambered in .30-30. It’s 20-inch barrel has a ‘as new’ mint bore and two barrel bands plated with yellow gold, the barrel bluing is 100%, the magazine 99%+.  The receiver and lower tang all show 100% factory gold plating. The receiver is engraved with a decorative scrolled border on the right side, and a railroad spike with the centenary dates on the left plate. The lever, trigger and hammer show 99% factory blue. The wood has good straight grain and a handsome satin finish; the butt plate is gold plated. This gun has been admired but never fired! To complete the picture the Golden Spike still has its original box and cover and hang tag.
