Description:
Built as #3 of a trio, this fine Purdey Island Lock 12ga built with 30" Whitworth Fluid Steel barrels that are Nitro proved. Anson type push button release splinter forend is nicely checkered and has engraved iron. The Island lock receiver is beautiful rose and scroll engraved as seen in the photos. Straight grip buttstock is very finely figured and terminates with a short ebony extension that was installed by legendary Purdey stockmaker David Trevallion. The ebony extension has engraved heel and toe clips which are a wonderful appointment to the gun. Barrels are Nitro proved!
This fine Purdey is graceful and remains in wonderful overall condition. Barrels retain nearly all of their proper rust blue. Frame with excellent engraving which remains clear and crispy. Buttstock and forend have been serviced by Trevallion and remain in superb condition. Bores are bright and shiny. Gun is tight and on face. Mechanics are perfect!
