Description:
Marlin Model 39 .22 S,L,LR, #HS3xxx. 24" octagon barrel and mag tube exhibit 98% of the original factory blue, are bright and without any major blems. The forend cap shows no flaking! The receiver sides retain 92+% of the original factory case color, the right side stronger than the left. The tangs and receiver bottom retain 92+% case, while the receiver top retains 80%, and the lever 65%. The signature S-curve pistol grip buttstock and forearm are in fine condition but may have received a light overcoating years go. The wood was never sanded, and there are no cracks, gouges or scratches evident, which mimics the condition of the metal. There are a couple of very minor marks on the forearm. Bore is bright with strong rifling, mechanics excellent. Now the hard part. The barrel of this beautiful 39 is tapped with scope blocks attached. The blocks are positioned so that no factory markings are affected, mimicking factory special order placement, but I make no representation that this was done by Marlin. Shipping $40, with insurance $65.
In my opinion, lacking the tapped barrel, this is, conservatively, a $3,200 Marlin. But it is tapped and I think my price of $1,950 reflects this.
