<<< SOLD >>> A well-executed provincial 16 bore by H.W. Bardford, a little-known gunmaker who operated from Bishop Street, Coventry, Warwickshire. While historical details are scarce, this gun speaks for itself—well-made and nicely finished, it reflects the quality that small provincial shops were capable of during Britain’s gunmaking heyday.
This example features a treble grip action, 26" barrels with a concave game rib, and bold acanthus scroll engraving—a pattern not as commonly seen. Great wall thickness. The action has been recently re-jointed and is mechanically very good, with ejectors in time. Bores are clean and shiny. The barrel blacking shows some wear near the muzzles, but is otherwise in nice condition.
