Circa 1870. Reproofed post 2005,.proof
stamp indicates " Nitro ,lined, steel shot.
stock is highly figured, French polished walnut
covered in very fine checkering on the stock, forend and buttt.
beautiful Damascus pattern on the barrel .This Purdey wss restored in England at time of reproofing to a very fine standard. Barrels show some very minor etching.
Left barrel is Improved .055 Right is Improved
.056. Sale includes fitted case to include two Purdey screw drivers. Purdey polishing cloth and
grease receptical.
