Description:

Walther PP chambered in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) with a 3.90" barrel.  This is a unique pistol in that it's marked R.F.V. 19850 W on the pistol's back strap for “Reichs Finance Bureau” and was issued during the second World War in 1940.  The R.F.V. was the Third Reich department in charge of the borders as well as government financial matters - much like our own IRS and border police.  It's said only about 10% of all R.F.V. Pistols are marked on the back strap, with the other majority and more commonly seen on the front strap.
Being manufactured in 1940- it's high polish blue with Eagle over N Proof Marks showing post 1940 and war time production.  It has these markings in the three key places.  The right side slide and barrel at ejection port and on the barrel near the muzzle.  The standard Walther Banner is on the left side slide and highly legible.  The high polish blue retains up to 85% with some loss mostly on the left side slide and high right side slide from holster wear I assume.  The grips are in excellent condition.  The bore I rate very high at a 8.5 out of 10 for a milsurp barrel.  It's bright and shiny with good grooves.  The magazine is correct- in that it's a wartime example with Walther and caliber markings.
A very nice collectable Walther with a very good story and one to shoot and enjoy!
