Special focus on custom contemporary muzzleloading rifles and black powder cartridge rifles. Description: Overall, this .38-55 Model 1893 is in pretty good condition for being almost 125 years old (DOM 1901). Metal has a mostly pewter greyish finish. No active rust. The action is tight and smooth. Bore has some grain, which is to be expected in a rifle this old. Should shoot well with lead bullets. Stocks are in generally good condition. There is a screw through the wrist, indicating an old repair. The usual bumps and scratches. No wiggle and appears sound. Could probably do with a newer counter sunk bolt with additional epoxy. Then seal and smooth hole. Good vintage shooter ready for woods or CAS side matches. $1200 + Shipping to your FFL or C&R.
